Back Story

Calgary-based DECO Windshield Repair was founded by Matt Horne in 2005, with just two kiosk locations. Since then, he’s grown DECO Windshield Repair to over 100 locations across Alberta, BC, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba, and plans to expand into Ontario for the 2011 season.

A former Canadian national team snowboarder, Horne’s dream of building DECO into North America’s premiere windshield repair company is quickly becoming reality. In 2009, DECO was named one of Profit’s Hot 50 Canadian Start-Ups, and then recently landed in ninth place on Alberta Venture’s Fast Growth 50 for 2011.

Objectives

With their parking lot-based tent locations opening and closing each day, depending on the weather or other factors, it was vital to DECO’s sales success to provide real-time location information to their customers.

Precise location data was also essential – including street addresses, nearby landmarks, and contact information – so that customers didn’t feel frustrated just trying to find a DECO Orange Tent.

Solutions

By integrating with DECO’s back-office system and leveraging Google Maps’ extensive API, we were able to present up-to-the-minute statuses and data for each location. The site design is informative and easy to navigate, and a specific Location Finder app is available for iPhone and Android devices.
